This almshouse dates back to 1899 when it was originally a small hospital for the elderly and infirm. The accommodation was converted into self-contained flats in the 1980s. We have been managing the 12 flats since June 2015, and in March 2017 Harrison Housing officially became the Corporate Trustee of the CUA Charity. What this means is the charity is now governed by Harrison Housing as an organisation, rather than by a board of individual trustees as it was in the past.
One of our Scheme Managers visits the almshouse monthly and there are regular coffee mornings where staff meet with residents.
