Scheme Managers play a key role in the life of a sheltered housing scheme.

Their duties include ensuring the wellbeing of residents each day as well as facilitating a range of social activities.
They also offer advice and support to residents should problems arise.
Residents are supported to lead full and independent lives at Harrison Housing and are encouraged to participate in the almshouse community
We provide a full and varied programme of events for residents to enjoy:

Day Trips

Regular outings are organised to places of interest and have included
visits to gardens, museums, theatres as well as shopping trips and a riverboat cruise.

Lounge

Our communal lounge is the venue for traditional events such as the annual summer and Christmas parties and Founders’ Day celebration.
It is also where residents meet for regular coffee mornings, film afternoons and fish ‘n’ chip suppers.
In addition to events hosted by Harrison Housing, residents organise a number of activities themselves,
including quiz evenings and bingo.

Library & Computer Facilities

Residents have access to a wide variety of books in the communal lounge, which are updated regularly by visits from the Mobile Library.
Our computers are very popular with those residents who want to improve their IT skills, or keep in touch with family and friends by e-mail or Skype.

Gardens

Our schemes have attractive outdoor spaces and residents are welcome to take an active interest the gardens, or simply use them as an oasis for relaxation if they prefer!

Guest Rooms

Our en-suite guest rooms are available for visitors to St James’s Gardens and Minford Gardens. This gives further opportunities for residents to keep in touch with friends and family who live some distance away.
